What Do We Need To Know About Theme Templates?

As of May 2026 and beginning with osConcert 10.3, the original osConcert template system has been modernized with styling and features inspired by the CyberGord Web Engine.

The CyberGord Web Engine is a separate application in itself, but many of its responsive design concepts, layout improvements, and customization features have now been integrated directly into osConcert to help users create more professional and visually appealing ticketing websites.

The goal of these changes is simple:

  • Improve responsive display on all devices
  • Give administrators more visual control
  • Make customization easier without editing large amounts of code
  • Allow uploaded media and theme settings to shape the overall appearance of the website

Theme Features Available in osConcert 10.3

The new template system now includes:

Color Themes

Choose from 13 built-in color themes, all of which can also be manually adjusted if you wish to create your own color variations.

Light & Dark Mode

Switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode instantly with a simple setting.

Typography & Fonts

Choose from several suggested font and typography combinations to better match your venue, theatre, or event branding.

Hero Sections

Select from multiple Hero (Front Page) layouts to create a stronger homepage presentation.

Hero sections can include:

  • Background images
  • Overlay effects
  • Titles and subtitles
  • Accent color fades
  • Call-to-action buttons

Footer Options

Switch between:

  • A simple/basic footer
  • A more advanced footer layout with additional content areas

Permanent Header Bar

Enable a permanent header section across all pages for announcements, promotions, notices, or branding.

Left & Right Columns

As always, osConcert still supports:

  • Left information columns
  • Right information columns
  • InfoBox modules

This allows older layouts and workflows to remain compatible.

Media Upload Integration

The Media Upload Manager can now be used to enhance your entire website design.

Uploaded media can be assigned to:

  • Hero background images
  • Hero display images
  • Optional footer background images

Backgrounds can also be enhanced with:

  • Color fade overlays
  • Accent color overlays
  • Darkening/lightening effects
  • Transparent gradient styling

These options help improve readability while keeping a modern visual appearance.

Editing Hero Text

Hero text can either be edited directly in the template settings or by editing the language definition files.

Example:

define('TEXT_GET_TICKETS', 'Get Tickets');
define('TEXT_HERO_TITLE', 'Welcome to osConcert');
define('TEXT_HERO_SUBTITLE', 'Join the fun....');

This makes it easy to:

  • Translate text into other languages
  • Quickly update marketing messages
  • Customize the homepage without editing template HTML

Final Notes

The osConcert 10.3 template improvements are designed to modernize the platform while still preserving the flexibility and familiarity of the original osConcert system.

Existing features such as InfoBoxes, category layouts, and traditional page structures remain supported, while the newer Web Engine styling additions provide a cleaner and more responsive experience for both administrators and customers.

These updates are intended to make osConcert websites easier to personalize, easier to maintain, and more visually professional across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
